Moving archives and widgets to the right hand panel

Is it possible to move the archives, categories and facebook like widget to the right hand side of the page, rather than at the bottom on the manifest theme? I like the minimalism of it, but is there any way you can change the layout? Also, how can you assign articles to a category, and have that category consistent on the header (where ‘about’ sits originally) and have that link through to the articles/photos in chronological order?

That’s not possible. This is a multiuser blogging platform and every bloig wearing the same theme is using the same underlying template. We cannot edit templates or themes. The CSS upgrade cannot be used to add a sidebar to pages which do not have one already. That would require hacking of the underling PHP script files, which we cannot do on free hosted WordPress.com blog .

A custom menu allows you to display Categories with drop-downs to sub-categories in tabs along the horizontal navigation where normally only Pages tabs are displayed. If you wish you can also include Pages with drop-downs to sub-pages and/or custom links in your custom menu as well. You are in charge of what appears in a custom menu. You choose the order in which to display any and/or all the foregoing in your custom menu. You choose which to display and which to hide. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus

Actually, it’s often possible to move widgets from one area to another using CSS. I will take a look at Manifest shortly to see if it’s possible with that theme.
