Moving Away from WordPress – Local Nameserver not changing

I am trying to move away from wordpress.com to a hosted website. The domain is registered with Godaddy and I have changed the NS records from my godaddy account to the new nameservers. However, the local(not parent) nameservers are not updating and are still pointing to the wordpress.com nameservers.

I did have domain mapping enabled on my wordpress site. I remember having to submit a request to change some sort of DNS setting for wordpress to get it to resolve properly. How to I get wordpress to let go of my domain name and let me host somewhere else?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Just to update, the domain I was mapping is ldair.ca. I had to ad a DNS zone to it because it was an interenational zone. How do I remove the zone that wordpress created when I submitted it here:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/dns-zone-records/

    Thanks,

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Any ideas on how I can contact support to remove the domain mapping that was done when I switched to wordpress even?

Once you have your name servers pointing away from WordPress.COM domain mapping here and any other settings are not relevant and don’t matter, so you don’t need to cancel domain mapping here or change any DNS records

    However: http://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/%20ldair.ca

Seem to be indicating an error in the name server settings
