Moving blog but having name troubles
-
I want to move a current blog I have with another provider, but the domain name is not available on WordPress. I clicked on the address and it appears to be an example or very inactive because it just says, “Another WordPress Blog” with no content. Is there a way I can appeal to get this domain available so that I do not have to change the name of my existing blog when I move it over?

I’m sorry but the answer is “no”. You can leave a message if comments are enabled or use contact information to requet the blog owner transfer the blog to you. There is no requirement to use a wordpress.com blog once it has been created. I suggest that you consider purchasing a domain name and domain mapping. Then it will not matter what the root blog sybdomain URL is here at wordpress.com. Also your domain would be portable and you could move it to other hosting if you wanted to do so in the future.
