Moving blog, but not domain, from WordPress to Weebly
-
Hi!
I tried to post before but not sure if it worked.
I have purchased my domain http://www.caiseyquinnwrites.com from you. I have built my website on Weebly.com. I need you to point my domain to the following IP: 199.34.228.57
This is done by changing my domain’s A-Records. I am not requesting that you transfer my domain, redirect my domain, or change my name servers. I want to remain with you as my domain registrar. For more detailed information, please see http://kb.weebly.com/domain-registrar.html.
Please help! Weebly does not provide me with the information to make the name servers change necessary and wordpress won’t let me access my DNS records from what I can tell. Though I did cancel my private registration in hopes that would help. (It didn’t).
Thank you so much for any assistance you can provide with this!

This should help http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/ Note that in order to make changes to the DNS, you have to be logged in as the Admin of the blog.

Thank you, yes I’ve seen that. It doesn’t :( Weebly doesn’t give me the info needed to change the Name servers. It has to be done by someone at WordPress. Another user was able to get it handled with help from WP but I can’t seem to. It’s my business website so I’m stressing out.

I flagged this for staff to sort out, but also be aware that it’s normal for the new URL not to work consistently for the first day or so. Once the change has been made, just wait. Changing back and forth in a panic is common, but also causes the clock to start again from zero. So just wait it out once staff have handled it.
I wonder why Weebly doesn’t give you the nameservers?

Hi Caisey, I updated the settings for your domain caiseyquinnwrites.com, so it is now pointed to your Weebly site. Please note that it may take 48-72 hours for these settings to take full effect. If you have any questions about this, please let me know!
