Moving blog followers from WP.com to self hosted blog

  Hi,

  Can you tell me how I can move my followers from my old blog (www.ialwayspickthethimble.wordpress.com, which was been redirected to http://www.ialwayspickthethimble.com on WordPress) to my new self-hosted blog (www.ialwayspickthethimble.com) on BlueHost? I am still using WordPress and have Jetpack installed.

  I am seeing your Jetpack connected site as being 69.89.31.106/~ialwaysp/ and not ialwayspickthethimble.com. Can you disconnect and reconnect to your permanent URL?

  Hi – My computer consultant is asking if you can please clarify “disconnect and reconnect to your permanent URL”. Do you mean to change the URL to point to ialwayspickthethimble.wordpress.com?”

  Jetpack is showing as being connected to 69.89.31.106/~ialwaysp/ and not to ialwayspickthethimble.com. If you want your followers to be moved to ialwayspickthethimble.com, that is what jetpack needs to be connected to.

  Hi there,

  I checked your site and it looks good, so there’s just one last step before we can transfer your followers. Can you please go to the Jetpack section in your dashboard and disconnect it from WordPress.com, and then reconnect it to WordPress.com?

  That will reset it in our system so we can transfer your followers to the right site. :) Please let me know if you have any questions about that.

  Nope, nothing else you need to do. :) I transferred your followers to ialwayspickthethimble.com, as requested. You’re all set!

  Your email followers will continue to receive email updates, and your WordPress.com followers will continue to see your new posts in the Reader. If your WordPress.com followers would like to receive email updates, as well, they can subscribe via email on your new blog.
