Moving blog from wordpress.org isn’t working well

  I’m trying to export my posts from my current blog to my old blog (I’ll be using that one again). So I exported everything from wordpress.org and imported that file to wordpress.com. But It will only import up to March 2009! How is this possible?

  When I click import I get this message:

  “Invalid file
  Please upload a valid WXR (WordPress eXtended RSS) export file.”

  But then I get an email saying: “upload succesful”
  And like I said: It will import up to March 2009

  Help…

  This is most likely a wordpress.org and not a wordpress.com issue. I had it on my wordpress.org blog. Have you checked the export file to see that all posts are there? wordpress.org does have some memory issue whereby not all posts are exported. Try deactivating some/all of your plugins and see if that changes something. Also, you may have to zip the export file before uploading.

  It worked! After deactivating all the plugins! The message still said: “Invalid file”, but all my posts are now imported to my old blog! Thanks!
