Moving blog subscribers

    Hello,

    client have a site:
    http://dragonflytransitions.com/

    we created new one and connected jetpack when it was on development server yet where url was: dragonflytrav2.wpengine.com .

    when we migrated to live we kinda lost 182 subscribers on blog. Is there any way to get them back? Will they still receive notifications even we dont see them anymore? Is there any way to transform subscribers to clients account? (because currently they are at mine)… i saw in documentation that its possible but just between wordpress.com accounts. but we have both (old and new site) on custom domain.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Do you mean dragonflytrans.wpengine.com? I’m not seeing anything named dragonflytrav2.wpengine.com associated with your account.

    Hi Josh,

    when publishing new site:
    dragonflytrav2.wpengine.com -> dragonflytransitions.com
    and
    dragonflytransitions.com -> dragonflytrans.wpengine.com

    if that makes sense.

  • If dragonflytrav2.wpengine.com no longer exists and is not connected to jetpack any longer, I’m afraid the followers cannot be migrated.

    Where are followers saved at?

    And next question would be: dragonflytransitions.com is set up on my account at the moment. if i want to migrate it to client account is this possible? in manual for transferring is only shown for .wordpress.com domains.

  • Good news!

    I was able to dig around a bit more and find the data for the old staging URL’s jetpack connection. Thus, I was able to transfer the subscribers.

    You just need to disconnect jetpack and then have them reconnect using their own WordPress.com user account info.

    That sounds wonderful!

    So for now if you can move subscribers to current live install dragonflytransitions.com that would be wonderful!(there should be 158 of subscribers or around that)

    About migrating to clients account:
    if i do that will subscribers just move to other account as well?

    I’ve already done that.
