moving blog to self host … and have a million questions

  hello

  I want to monetize my blog so I understand I need to move from wordpress to self hosting .

  can someone tell me if I have this right ….

  I am on wordpress.com … I have to move to .org right? and find a host (like bluehost )?

  will I loose my followers?

  will all my old links that I pinned or facebooked no longer work once it is moved? or will the links redirect somehow?

  is it really hard or easy to do ? I know where to go to export .. but I am not sure I follow all the other steps…
  is it worth paying the 129 $ to have it done?

  also a side question … i just started using the wordpress app to blog and love it … I am guessing that won’t be possible once the blog is moved?
