Moving Closed Site back to WordPress

    Hi,

    I recently moved my site to another server and now i want to move it back. My account appears to be closed. Can I still use it or do I have to start a new account? If I can use this account, how do I install my site back up file?

    Hi there – I assume you are referring to the site at https://robertdunford.com/

    It looks like at one point you may have hosted this site here at WordPress.com under this same account, and had a Business plan attached to that site. Is that right so far?

    Is the Business plan something you think you’ll need for the site you migrate back to WordPress.com hosting?

    If so, you’ll need to do two things to set this up for before migrating the site back to WordPress.com:

    1. Create a new site on your account (username: robertedunford).
    2. Purchase a Business plan for that site.

    Once those two steps are done refer to the guide I’ve linked to below to choose how you would like to migrate your site back over to WordPress.com.

    If you aren’t sure if you will need the Business plan, tell us a little more about your site (plugins, themes, etc) and what you are wanting to accomplish with it. We can try to make a recommendation.

    Thanks for your reply. Yes, I am referring to robertdunford.com.

    I am still unclear as to how to move forward. When I login to my WordPress account, the “My Site” defaults to the current site I want to stop using. If I click “Add New WordPress” the tool starts walking me through design etc. I just want to move the site from where it is to the WordPress server. How can I do this?

    In other words, how do I stop the WordPress tool from defaulting to the site I don’t want so I can import and use the copy of the site I have?

    Hi Rob, we just need you to start by creating a site so we’ll have something to move your content into.

    Then you can follow these tips to transfer just your posts, or transfer everything including the layout and what not. It sounds like you’ll want that option:
