moving comments from a page to a post (or vice versa)

  today, I learned something new — how to move (and modify) comments from a page to a post (thanks for the tip, WP!)

  however, I noticed that the IP portion of comments can’t be modified from my own IP address, at least according to the entries under the Comments section of my Dashboard. or am I missing something?

  Hi there – Did you do this by copying and pasting the comment? It isn’t possible to edit the IP field. :)

  yes, copying and pasting the comment seems to be the only way to transfer comments. thank you! :)
