moving comments from Haloscan to WP

Hello all, I recently have moved over from Blogger to WordPess and am happy to be here. However, I used Haloscan for my comments on blogspot and those comments did not come over with the import. I’ve checked with Haloscan and they told me therer was nothing they could help me with. Is there anyway I can get those comments to my new blog on WP? I didn’t think about this before importing, otherwise I may not attempted to make the switch. It’s a small thing, but I’d like to have my comments follow me.

We do not believe that Holoscan has any method of exporting their content.

Only method is to copy and paste the comments manually while logged out. If you’re logged out, you can enter the commenters name and website information instead of having wordpress default to using your own.

As a premium member with Haloscan, I am able to backup or export my comments to a .xml file. I have done that, but I don’t know how I would integrate that into WP, if it’s even possible?

    Thanks for your assistance.

I still think you will have problems as there is only a ‘blog entries’ importer and no known (at least to me) comment importer, so if you tried to bring in that file through the WP.com importer, it will try and make them entries and not comments associated to any posts.

ok, thanks. I was obviously hoping for a different answer, but thanks for the speedy response.

You might want to send in a Feedback on Monday and ask if staff has a work around. Do mention though the bit about the *.xml file.

Thanks Dr. Mike. I will do that tomorrow.
