moving content from blogger to wordpress
-
I have had a blog at blogger since 2004 and would like to switch everything over to wordpress. Is it possible for me to somehow move all of the content over?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes. Occasionally blogger screws something up and imports require staff intervention by WordPress.com, but it’s possible. Here are the instructions:

Yes it is. There is a blogger import feature in your dashboard here at tools > import. It will not bring over your images I don’t think, but you can leave your images hosted at blogger and then bring them over a few at a time as you have the time. Since the image code in the posts will be blogger URLs, you will have to edit the posts and then reinsert the images after uploading them here.
Moving from blogger, there could be some clean up to do as blogger does not produce the best of code. A lot of time though you can get wordpress to automatically correct the code by going to settings > writing and selecting “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then click save changes. Then on any posts that have problems, open them in the post editor, make one minor change such as adding a space and then deleting it, and then click the update button and wordpress should take care of most errors for you automatically.

That’s not good.
I’ve yet to experience one of those here, but know it is probably in my future somewhere. Luckily we are far more likely to get tropical storms than hurricanes.
