moving current website

  I want to change from GoDaddy to WP for hosting and editing/maintaining a small business website. I do NOT want to stop my current site from working until I’m ready to ‘go live’ with the WP version. If I ‘transfer’ the domain, do I immediately stop pointing to my current hosting server?

  Nope. You won’t have to change the settings to point here until you’re ready. In fact, it’s okay to just skip the domain step altogether (opting for a free name) until you’re ready. I do recommend getting the plan you prefer, though, so that you’ll have access to the other features you want.
