moving domain
-
Hello!
I currently have a domain purchased from Squarespace (it’s up for renewal in July) and I plan to move to WordPress to a ‘personal plan’. My question is how much will I pay for the domain I already have. I see that at least for the first year on WordPress it appears to be free (?)
Thank you!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
All of the paid plans on WordPress.com(Personal, Premium and Business) comes with one free domain credit. It includes registering a new domain or mapping an existing domain. So you don’t need to pay an extra fee for domain mapping. All you have to do is upgrading to the Personal plan and performing a domain mapping.
Step-by-step instructions are here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
I hope this information helps you.

Hi olgasia08,
My question is how much will I pay for the domain I already have.
As hacchism said, the domain can be connected to your WordPress.com site with domain mapping. I also wanted to mention that the domain itself will need to be renewed through Squarespace — as our paid plans only include renewal for domains registered through WordPress.com.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Isn’t it posibile for me to fully move the domain to WordPress.com, so I won’t have to keep paying for it at Squarespace?

Hi @olgasia08 again,
Currently, WordPress.com doesn’t support incoming domain transfer. Therefore, you need to keep renewing your domain through Squarespace as @gemmacevans mentioned.

Hi @olgasia08,
It looks like your question has already been answered :) The Personal plan is the cheapest option if you are upgrading primarily to map a domain.

Yes. Things are clear for now. Hopefully in the future it will be possible to fully move my domain to WordPress.com
Thank you!
