Moving domain away

Hello. I would like to move my domain, registered through WordPress. I would like to move to a new registrar and a new host, both seperate companies. I’m having a hard time getting this done and the domain is up for renewal the second week in January. PLEASE, PLEASE, help me with this. I’m finding the instructions confusing and I can’t afford to pull anymore hair out!
