Moving domain from Moonfruit to WordPress

  Hi Team,

  We have a .org website on Moonfruit and want to move the domain to WordPress. However, we’re not sure whether we need to TRANSFER or MAP our domain to WordPress. Can you please assist us ASAP?

  It’s more a personal preference type of thing, really.

  Mapping allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

  A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

  So, basically, are you an “all of your eggs in one basket” type of person, or “not all of your eggs in one basket”? :)

  Thanks for the quick response! We definitely want to keep our eggs in one basket in this case, so we’re happy to go with the transfer option!

  I’ve started the steps to transfer the domain, and I’m asked to unlock the domain and get a domain authorization code. I’m waiting for Moonfruit to respond to us about this, but is there anything else we need to do in the meantime?

  There’s nothing to do on this end yet until the domain is unlocked and you have that code.
