Moving domain from WordPress.com to WordPress.org

I added my domain (that I purchased through GoDaddy) to my WordPress.com account and added domain mapping. I later realized that I really wanted to use WordPress.org because I have my own hosting and want to upload my own theme. I have the hosting and FTP set up for WordPress.org and have followed the WordPress installation instructions, but when I run the install script, I get this error:
‘Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.’
How do I move this domain to WordPress.org without doing the domain mapping upgrade?

First you will have to cancel your domain mapping upgrade.Follow this official support guide to cancel your upgrades:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/manage-purchases/But if you already did that just change the DNS records or nameserver values of your domain to point to your WordPress.ORG site.
Where can you get the DNS records/nameserver values?
Contact your hosting provider(through which you WordPress.ORG site is hosted) to get these.Let us know if these help 🙂

Hi there,
Your domain is pointed to Dreamhost, and is trying to connect to them when I try to load it.
If it’s still redirecting to WordPress.com for you, please clear your browser cache, and if that doesn’t work, clear your computer’s DNS cache.
Also note that Dreamhost will have their own specific instructions to connect the domain to your hosting account on their end, aside from the WordPress instruction which is specific only to the software, not your hosting account. Please contact Dreamhost support for help with that.
