moving domain hosting
-
I purchased a domain from wordpress.com. I just upgraded to wordpress.org and purchased hosting through bluehost. I followed all the directions to switch my domain and it is not working. I am still seeing my theme and pages from the “.com” site. All of the themes, pages, and plug ins I’ve added from the “.org” site and not showing up. I followed the directions on the forums to a T. Please help me launch my site.
Thank you

Howdy,
It appears you’ve correctly changed your nameservers over to ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com and your site is now showing a Bluehost landing page, so you’re setup right as far as your domain itself is concerned.
At this point, it appears Bluehost may not have your domain listed on your account. You can likely add this in your Bluehost cPanel’s Domains area or you can contact their support for assistance as well.
Thanks for giving WordPress.com a try. Is there anything particular that led you to switch to Bluehost? I appreciate the feedback so we can look to improve our services.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need anything else. Cheers!

Thanks for your help. The problem I am still facing is that when I log in to WordPress, I am taken to the “.com” dashboard, not the “.org” dashboard. I am not able to access the plugins or themes that I need.

Hi Brooklyn,
The best bet is likely to contact Bluehost support. For your domain at http://missbrooklynchase.com/, you would most likely need to login to your WordPress.org site at http://missbrooklynchase.com/wp-admin/ but it appears that your domain may not be associated with your Bluehost account yet.
Once you have a WordPress.org site, you’ll no longer login to WordPress.com to administer your site since you’re now running your own version of the software and not using what WordPress.com administers for you.
There are a few other differences that you can look over at your leisure: WordPress.com and WordPress.org
Please let me know if you have any other questions or if there’s anything you need from us.
