Moving Domain Name from WordPress to Weebly
-
Hi,
I originally built my website on WordPress, but have decided to switch to Weebly. I need my domain name moved from WordPress to Weebly.
I need to point my domain to their servers. Can you set this up for me or walk me through the process of making these changes? I need to create A-Records for “www” and for my root domain. That’s one record for “www” pointing to 199.34.228.100. And one record for the root domain pointing to 199.34.228.100.
If you need more info on these changes, please see:
http://kb.weebly.com/domain-registrar.htmlNote that I want to keep using you as my domain registrar. I am not requesting a transfer and do not have new name servers to provide you.
My domain is : http://www.michaelwebermusic.com
Thank you for your help…
The blog I need help with is michaelwebermusic.com.

Hi there,
I have updated your A-records as requested. Please note that these changes usually take 1 hour. However, it may take up to 48 hours for these changes to take effect. These time frames are estimates and not guaranteed.
Happy Holidays!

Hi there,
Please note that your email will not work. Your nameservers need to be set to NS1.WORDPRESS.COM and NS2.WORDPRESS.COM for these DNS records to work.
Since your nameserver records are pointing to Weebly and not WordPress.com, you will not be able to use your domain for email unless you move your domain to a hosting provider that provides email hosting – like GoDaddy or DreamHost.
The guide below explains how to transfer the domain name to another registrar, including how to access the authorization (EPP) code: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-domain-registration/
Once the transfer is complete, you will be able to configure your email MX records.

Thank you for your help. You’ll have to excuse me, as I’m a beginner when it comes to this stuff.
Up until this point I have been able to use the domain name michaelwebermusic.com, provided by WordPress, with my email through Google Apps. However, now that michaelwebermusic.com is pointing to a Weebly-created site, the domain name will no longer work with Google Apps?
In this support thread here…

…it would appear as though two other people recently in the same situation as me were able to get their sites transferred to Weebly and retain the use of their email through Google Apps.
Is my case different from theirs?
Again, thank you for your help with this!
