Moving entire site onto WP: how to

    Hi,

I recently moved my blog from MT to WP: good news is WP is 75 lightyears better, bad news I lost so much time on this dull MT.

Anyways, now I’m thinking of moving my entire (static html dreamweaver-made) site onto WP. The problem is, the site consists of 7 parts: 5 languages, a photoblog and a blog. Most probably, the photoblog part will remain static due to its volume (2GB+), but what’s the best way to handle the rest of the segments, considering they all have different content and navigation? Can I achieve that (5-6 different navigation sets for each part) with 1 WP installation or should I install a separate WP for every single part of the site? The site in question is http://www. skorobogatov.com/ .

    Thank you!

  • So, the short answer is that there isn’t really an automated way to do what you are asking. The long answer is that you may be able to manually do some of it, but some of it may just not work out how you like on WordPress.com.

For a project of that type, you might look into setting up a self-hosted WordPress.org site. Posting your question on the WordPress.org support forums may generate some useful suggestions:
