Moving followers
-
Hi. I need to move followers from my one WP.com site to another WP.com site I own. Please may I have some assistance with this? Thank you. Fritz

Hi Fritz,
Could you please provide the addresses for the sites and the WordPress staff should be able to assist you with the transfer.
-
Please let us know the address of both the old and the new site and we’ll handle the migration.

Thank you for your response. I want to move my followers FROM this site: fritzloest.wordpress.com.
I want to move them TO this site: https://sacredriver.co.za. Not sure what the WP.com address is. I self-host this site from WP.org and connect to WP.com via the free Jetpack package, mostly to access stats on WP.com. If I view this site on WP.com, the address is: https://wordpress.com/view/sacredriver.co.za
I’ve been running both sites concurrently. They contain exactly the same posts.
But before you move them, could you possibly tell me: do the posts on the ‘TO’ site appear on the WP.com reader available to people on WP.com who don’t follow me? Some years ago I needed a paid package from Jetpack for this functionality. Is this still the case? If so, which package do I need? And do I then get exactly the same exposure to possible new followers on WP.com as on a WP.com hosted site?
Thank you

Hi Fritz, fritzloest.wordpress.com isn’t associated with your fcloest account, but if you’d like to fix that, here’s how you can change site owners:
https://wordpress.com/support/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/Regarding the Jetpack reader feature, would you be willing to double check with Jetpack support? My understanding is that you would need a current paid plan for that, but they’ll know best.

Oh I wanted to add as well, here’s how you can migrate your followers on your own, once both sites are under the same account:

Hi supernovia
Apologies for the delay .. I’ve was severely sidetracked.
When I try to move fritzloest.wordpress.com to my fcloest account I get this message: “User fcloest Cannot Access the Dashboard Requested” with accompanying text.
When I go to my fritzloest account, I am not given the option to move that blog elsewhere.
Not sure what to do?
Thank you.

Okay, no worries … when I did it on my phone now, it worked.
Thank you for your assistance.
