Moving followers from wordpress.com to self hosted site
-
I have read your relative thread, but it is not clear to me how can I move the 1166 people who already follow my blog to the new wordpress I will install under a server tomorrow.
Plugins cannot be installed in free wordpress installations like mine, so using Jetpack is not an option for me.
Of course I will create a post informing my followers about the change to the new site incorporating GDPR in it as well, but it would be nice to know if I have a more automated option for this data transfer with your help in case I will need it.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
If you wish to move from WordPress.com to the Self-hosted site, we have detailed instructions on our support document here: https://move.wordpress.com
Yes, once you migrate your site to the self-hosted version of WordPress you can transfer your WordPress.com followers through “Jetpack” you just need to install that plugin in your self-hosted site.
Please follow the support document below, to transfer follower from WordPress.com site to Self-hosted WordPress site:

Hi hellenictao,
Plugins cannot be installed in free wordpress installations like mine, so using Jetpack is not an option for me.
Jetpack features are already built-in on hellenictao.wordpress.com so you don’t need to manually install the plugin there. Jetpack only needs to be installed on your WordPress.org site — this is what creates a connection to WordPress.com and allows followers to be transferred from one site to the other.
The instructions @vishalmukadam linked to will guide you though that process:

Please let me know if you have any questions.
