Moving followers from WordPress.com to WordPress.org
-
I’m moving my blog over from WordPress.com to self-hosted WordPress and would like to move my WordPress followers and stats over to the new blog – I believe I have to put in a request for this
I’d also like to move my email subscribers over to the jetpack subscription option. I have installed Jetpack and linked it to my wordpress.com blog.
WordPress.com blog is http://letgotravelaustralia.wordpress.com/
New blog is http://letsgotravelaustralia.com/Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, I have the same question.
Can someone help me move my subscribers from http://takingitallinstride.wordpress.com to http://http://tanyasylvan.com?
Thank you!

I have the same problem: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/transfer-subscribers-from-wordpresscom-4
-
I’ve done a search on moving/transferring followers and all the replies are that the Admin/staff here has to do it. So help please I would like them moved as requested in my first post.
Thanks

Hey,
I can help out those that want their subscribers moved over.
First up, please make sure you have carefully followed the instructions on this page:
Then let me know both the source, and destination URLs of the blogs you wish to transfer subscribers between.
Thanks!

I completed the instructions for activating Jetpack.

Hey tlsylvan – that’s them moved over! Be aware that the totals may take a bit of time to update to reflect the changes.

Hi Clickysteve as mentioned at the start of my post on this topic that I have already installed Jetpack and linked it to my wordpress.com blog.
I believe you can move the statistic over too.
WordPress.com blog is http://letgotravelaustralia.wordpress.com/
New blog is http://letsgotravelaustralia.com/Thanks

Umm can I get some help please. I started this post. I already had the Jetpack install and did every required to move my followers. I start the support question yet someone who then added to my request got the help and I didn’t :(

Hey letsgogecko – sorry about the delay!
I can’t see letsgoaustralia.com in your list of connected Jetpack sites. Currently you have:
http://travel.simplygrainfree.com/
and
connected up. Can you try disconnecting Jetpack, and then reconnecting it, ensuring it’s the letsgogecko WordPress.com account that’s logged in at the time please?
Let me know when you’ve done that, and I can sort this out for you.
Additionally, make sure you don’t make any other posts before we switch over the followers, otherwise I will be unable to also merge the stats, as both blogs need to have identical posts for this to happen.
All the best,
-
Hi clickysteve, thanks for your reply.
Sorry I made an error, I connected to jetpack using a different username. I have since changed that to letsgogecko, so hopefully you should now see letsgotravelaustralia.com
Once it’s all connected and stats etc moved over can I delete the user letsgogecko from my new site or will they always have to be there?
Thanks

Hi clickysteve,
Also travel.simplygrainfree.com was a sub-domain that was setup to set the site up before the domain of letsgotravelaustralia.com was moved to it. I had connected the jetpack to the site while it was still travel.simplygrainfree.com that is why you could see it and not letsgotravelaustralia.com. :) It’s all installed as letsgotravelaustralia.com now and under letsgogecko :)

Hey letsgogecko!
Okay, sorry for the delay, but you should be all set!
Please be aware that the totals may take a bit to update to reflect the changes.
Here’s your updated stats page:

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Awesome thanks.
Do I still need to keep the user name letsgogecko on my new site as I have set up another user for the new site?
-
Hey,
You don’t need to keep the username the same between your WordPress.org and WordPress.com site hosted sites, as they are separate. You will still need your WordPress.com account so that you can make use of Jetpack and access the stats though!
All the best,
-
Great, thanks for your help.
I assume when I click on the blog followers in my stats page I will see them again. At the moment it goes to page can’t be found when I click on them.
-
It sounds like you are still seeing a cached version of the stats page.
Try going directly to this link:

You can then try clearing out your cookies and cache as below:
