Moving free WP website

    Hi,

i am using the free wordpress.com service for my blog. Now I want to move this complete blog to a new hosting provider. My question is how to do so in the most efficient way?

Many recommend to use the WP plugin “Duplicator” to create a backup and restore it with the new hosting provider. However, with my free WP service, I cannot install any plugins.

I have also seen that in the menu “tools” you can export your websites and download all pictures. However, to my understanding I can download only the pure text and all pictures. But when I move these websites to the new hosting provider, I need to insert all the pictures from scratch manually. This would be a huge effort as many of my websites use lots of pictures and adding them is always a quite time intensive.

Do you see any other options to move my free websites?

    Thanks.

  • Hi there!

To move your site to another host you can use this guide we prepared:

You should be able to import all your content (text and media files) and set up your theme manually.
