Moving from a self-hosting blog to a wordpress hosted blog
-
Hi,
I am currently hosting several blogs with my own hosting provider, network solutions. I would like to move one of them over to wordpress – including the custom domains. I’d like to understand what is involved in doing this and what they limitations are.
Thanks,
Ed

I’m in the process of doing this right now.
1. Create your new wordpress.com blog. Export your existing content and import it to your new blog. (This is a function on your left hand menu at the dashboard).
2. Maintain your existing domain name registry (WordPress does not accept incoming domain name registries).
3. Go to http://store.wordpress.com/ and look over your options. You will need to purchase a domain redirect ($13) and possibly some additional storage space.
4. There are some limitations on code and advertising, but from the looks of your site, these are not things you’ll run into. -
3) You need to Map an existing domain: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
