Moving from .com to .org
-
I know how to export and import my wordpress.com to a wordpress.org, but I’m trying to find out the following and can’t seem to find definite answers:
1) Do subscribers stay subscribed for notifications etc?
2) (Super important) Is there a way to remain connected to the .com community? For example others searching tags such as “writing” will find the .org blog in their feed?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I moved from .org to .com a year and a half ago and had used Jetpack on .org to manage stats, subscriptions, etc. When I moved over my blog, despite having the same domain name, started anew from a stats / subscriptions point of view as it was effectively considered a new site. So if the same is still true today I believe the answer to 1 would be no – you’d connect your .org blog to JetPack and it would have no relation to the .com one.
In terms of 2, I believe the community integration (freshly pressed and so on) is .com only.

Turns out subscribers can be moved over by a member of staff as explained in this topic.

Thanks guys.
Number 2 is a deal breaker for me lol, so it looks like I’ll stay with .com then.
Thanks again!
