Moving from .com to .org – worth it?
-
I was pretty new to blogging when I started my money making blog http://www.homesuccesstips.wordpress.com a few weeks ago, and now I feel I need more functionality and flexibility. I’ve looked up some of the differences, but was wondering if any of you could give me a quick breakdown on the main benefits of migrating. I also would like to know which host to go with and why. Many thanks in advance for any help and advice.

It entirely depends on your priorities. What do you want from blogging? If you want host recommendations, you will have to look over at WordPress.ORG, as we here have one host: Wp.com.

Ideally, I want to make some regular money as a result of my blog. I’m already doing OK here at .com, but I’d like to take it to the next level.

HOW do you want to make money? Paid advertising here at WordPress.com will get your blog suspended or deleted, as it is against the terms of service. If that’s how you want to make money, you have no choice but to move.

Oh yeah, you’re going to HAVE to move. I’d recommend checking out the hosting recommendations at WP.org as soon as possible.
