moving from one blog to another

    Is it possible to move the contents of a category from one blog to another blog? If so, can they keep the same posting date?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    It is completely possible. You create an export file of your blog, except you configure it to include only posts from the one category. You then import it to your other blog. Their posting date will remain exactly the same, and if there are already posts on the other blog the new ones will be inserted between them, based on the date and timestamps.

    Note exporting the posts will not remove them from the first blog. If you no longer want them to be on that blog you’ll have to delete them manually.

    Novice here (stop cringing) – I recently signed up for a WP account (very exciting) – Unfortunately as a novice – I appear to be doing the process of import export incorrectly. I signed up with a primary account say “123.wordpress”…. then I purchased a domain name of “123.com” from WP and was successful in associating it with “123.wordpress..” I created a second blog account (I confused myself) of 345.wordpress..associated with the primary account…. and designed a blog. When I use my purchased domain name of 123.com to direct to my secondary blog…it failed showing a blank blog. I exported 345.wordpress (.com) and imported to 123.wordpress – got the confirmation message from WP but it did not correct the situation. Obviously I do not have a grip on this….. How can I load my completed 345.wordpress blog to my primary of 123. wordpress – and direct my purchased domain name to it? I have made the attempt again and am waiting so see…but I don’t have much confidence in my abillities. Oh yes per recommendation I have made both blogs public.

    It will help a lot if you include the actual URLs in your support request. Especially if staff needs to look into your problem they will need the actual URLs or they won’t be able to help you.
