Moving from .org to .com
-
I only show 24 comments on that page. Since your site was hosted by another provider previously, I have no way of being able to see what the total was prior to the import. Perhaps you transposed those numbers?
-
Nah.. I’m sure there were 42. Besides, the latest comment shows may 15, 2012. The day I decided to move to wp.org. I definitely received comments on the about me page since then till today.
-
Thanks for that information. I checked in with one of our developers and they said that if your About page existed on your WordPress.com site prior to the import, the importer would skip that page and related comments.
If you want to update it with your new information, you would have to delete and trash your existing About page, then run the importer again with your export file. It will import your about page with all the comments since the page won’t exist on your site at the time of the import. Since you haven’t had any new comments on that page since your return to WordPress.com, you don’t need to worry about losing anything.
I hope that makes sense!

Gasp!!! Trash the about me page. Ok, sounds scary, but what must be done, must be done. Thanks you thank you thank you so much for all the help that you have done. I just have to ask you one last thing. When I add a link in my page or post, I want it to show blue. It’s a dark shade of grey at the moment. Any idea how I can fix this?
-
Ok, since you are already using a lot of custom CSS, you would need to add this code to the very end of your CSS stylesheet editor page:
.post-wrap a, .page-wrap a { color: #0000FF; text-decoration: none; }This will give you a bright blue color. Here’s a page with a number of different blues and the corresponding hexadecimal code you can use instead of “#0000FF”:

Ahmm… Help!!! Something weird has has happened to my site. I just posted the code that you gave in CSS and it seems to have gone hay wire. Can you please take a look?
-
That’s weird every wordpress blog that I open seems to have the same problem as I have on my blog. They all have their layouts gone haywire. I thought It must be my browser and so I deleted the cookies and caches but still this problems seems to persist.
-
If the problem persists on other pages than your own, it’s not due to the CSS code I provided earlier since that would only be applied to only your site. Also, I just visited your site, and the layout looks the same as it did earlier.
As it appears that you’re using your old CSS which I advised might not be fully compatible between WordPress.org and WordPress.com, I really can’t provide specific troubleshooting help as to what might have caused the problem. The code I provided I tested and it doesn’t break your existing site on my end – so you should be able to use it without any problems.
We do have a great CSS support forum where we have a lot of volunteers that help with CSS troubleshooting and might be able to help if you still have issues:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customizationI hope that helps!

Oh!! I see. It happened just after I used the code you see, and that’s when things started to look weird. I wish I could share a screen shot with you to show how the site looks at my end. Don’t know what’s wrong.
But you confirming that the site looks fine at your end is a relief. *phew* I tried two other browsers and I’m facing this same problem. I sure will check out the forum that you indicated.
-
Restarting your computer might help too? But I can confirm your site is loading fine at this time, so that should help somewhat.
Happy Blogging!
-
I tried restarting already. But… no hope. It all kinda looks like a site with no css layout. No coding what so ever. It looks like just a word text document and images here and there.
Like I said before. You confirming that the site looks fine from your end is a relief at the moment.
Time will heal this issue for me? I doubt.
-
Hey!!! I guess this really was just a matter of time. Now I see that everything is perfect. That was so weird though.
Thanks for all the help. :)
