Moving from selfhosting to WP premium
-
I am selfhosting noe, at Simply. com, using free WP. I want to get WP premium, but am nervous about it. Do I loose all my statists? I don’t like the long urls, with the date. Can I have simple Urls with just the hostname and name of the post? What kind of plugins do I need to uninstall before migrating? If there are hiccups, does WP help me? Do you have any tips or advice apart from these concerns? I want to move as I belive one gets more traffic. I am also told, WP security is very good. That one doesn’t have to think about it at all. Thanks in advance

Do I loose all my statists?
If you are currently using the Jetpack plugin for your stats, we can transfer those to your new WordPress.com site.
I don’t like the long urls, with the date. Can I have simple Urls with just the hostname and name of the post?
You’ll need a paid Business or eCommerce plan to customize permalinks: https://wordpress.com/support/permalinks-and-slugs/
What kind of plugins do I need to uninstall before migrating?
You’ll need a paid Business or eCommerce plan to use plugins here, so if you only plan to use the Premium plan, I recommend removing all plugins before exporting your site: https://wordpress.com/support/plugins/adding-plugins/
If there are hiccups, does WP help me?
We offer forum support for all users on our free plan, email support for all customers with paid plans, and live chat support for all customers with Premium and higher paid plans: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
Visiting https://wordpress.com/help/contact will always connect you with the highest available support option for your plan.
I am also told, WP security is very good.
We do take our security very seriously here: https://wordpress.com/support/security/
If you’d like to move your site to us, please follow this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/

Thank you. I can see that I will have to get WP business. Actually, that was my plan. I made a mistake. I guess WP then will overwrite all my permalinks and I will have to go in and correct them. I have read the link you sent me. I don’t have Jetpack, but see I will have to install it before migration. . I want to migrate my whole site.
Will my Newsletter plugin work on WP business? I guess I need to uninstall Wordfence security, WP statistics, Yoast SEO, UpdraftPlus
My site is bilingual. I have Polylang installed. Will that work? I also have a premium revision manager TMC plugin. I want to keep that
My theme is Hemingway. I see that it is called Hemingway rewritten on WP B. I don’t know what that will entail.
What about Advanced noCaptcha?
Maybe I need some professional help. I am just an amateur. I have done everything myself so far though. https://thyroidblog.com/en/

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
Will my Newsletter plugin work on WP business? I guess I need to uninstall Wordfence security, WP statistics, Yoast SEO, UpdraftPlus
The newsletter plugin should work on the business plan.
With regards to uninstalling plugins, Updraft Plus and WordFence would need to be uninstalled.
My site is bilingual. I have Polylang installed. Will that work? I also have a premium revision manager TMC plugin. I want to keep that. What about Advanced noCaptcha?
These plugins should work on the business plan.
My theme is Hemingway. I see that it is called Hemingway rewritten on WP B. I don’t know what that will entail.
It sounds like you could be using the self-hosted version of the theme: https://en-gb.wordpress.org/themes/hemingway/ – this version will also work on the business plan.
