Moving from Wix to WordPress
-
Hi,
My organization is interested in moving from our current CMS, WIX, to WordPress.
I was wondering if you could assist me with steps on making this switch. We would want to keep our current domain name, and switch over the domains after fully building our new WordPress site (a step that will take a few months time). Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Hi! No problem at all. I’d recommend choosing a plan and skipping the domain step for now, opting for a free address. Then you can point your real domain when you’re ready.
We also have tools to help you import a Wix site. They don’t always get everything, but it can be provide a good start. We have details here:
https://transferto.wordpress.com/wixWe have recently run into some connectivity trouble with imports, so if you see a message saying the site isn’t accessible, can you send a link to the existing site and give us permission to attempt the import from our side? You’ll also have direct support with a paid plan, so if you prefer to reach out there, just get your plan first and then head back to https://wordpress.com/help/contact .

Hey there, just checking in to be sure you’re doing well with this. I noticed the account isn’t verified yet, for example, and that would give you a little trouble with things.
We’re happy to help, though! So if you need help, please write us here, or open direct support at https://wordpress.com/help/contact
Cheers!
