Moving from WordPress.org to WordPress.com

  Good afternoon,
  1. I want to set up brilliantblu.co.uk through WordPress.com using the business plan
  2. Currently brilliantblu.co.uk is hosted via WordPress.org
  3. I want to be able to play about with designing new website for brilliantblu.co.uk on WordPress.com without impacting the current live website
  4. How can I do this? When I start the process of selecting a business plan it asks me to select a new domain or transfer the existing one
  5. Can I transfer the existing domain to WordPress.com without impacting the current website?

  Hi there, no problem. You’re welcome to create your new site with us before pointing the domain here. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.

  Regarding the domain, even if you transfer it here, it won’t be “live” until you map it. It’s also fine though to skip the domain option (choosing a free address) until you’re closer to going live though.
