Moving from WordPress.com site to Self-Hosted WordPress
-
Hi, i moved my site from WordPress.com to WordPress.org and i find some problems :
1. if i use the short links (of the posts) i published on Facebook and other places – it’s take me to my old site (wp.com) instead take me to the new site (on wp.org).
2, all the forms i put in my site become big mess – instead of form you see the html code of it.
i will appreciate your help.

Hi there,
1. if i use the short links (of the posts) i published on Facebook and other places – it’s take me to my old site (wp.com) instead take me to the new site (on wp.org).
Those shortlinks are specific to WordPress.com, so it’s normal that those will be linking to the posts on the WordPress.com site. The same would have happened if you had shared the full *.wordpress.com URL instead.
If you want old links to your WordPress.com site to take people to your new site, you’ll need the Site Redirect upgrade:
2, all the forms i put in my site become big mess – instead of form you see the html code of it.
The contact form on WordPress.com is a WordPress.com feature. If you have the Jetpack plugin installed and activated on your self-hosted site, those forms should still work, but they won’t work without Jetpack. Forms aren’t part of the WordPress software by default, so you’ll either need to manually code the forms in HTML, or use a plugin to add forms.
Also note that we can’t help with self-hosted WordPress sites in this forum, as those sites use a completely different version of the WordPress software. For help with a self-hosted site, please post here instead:

hank you very much kokkie.
Although my site was under my private domain (redirected from mysite.wordpres.com to mysite.com) while i made those shortlinks, still i need now (while mysite.com is on a private host) to use this redirect ? -
Thank you supernovia
Now, after i followed kokkieh’s advice it’s ok.
but what i ask is if i realy need it although my site was under my private domain (redirected from mysite.wordpres.com to mysite.com) while i made those shortlinks, and now it is in wp.org with the same private domain and same permalinks structure. -
Think of the wp.me links this way: even if you stopped using the custom domain and went to a free site, they would not stop working. The redirect will send them out to your new site.

so i must keep redirect because the links were linked the wp.com although i made it while my site was under my private domain
