Moving from WordPress.com to WordPress.org

    Hi,

    I’ve been using wordpress.com for quite some time now. However, I am ready to make the move to WordPress.org. I’m in the process of completing the move however, I’ve experienced a problem.

    1. I’ve deleted my wordpress.com blog “http://moapdotcom.wordpress.com/”. Before I deleted it, I’d map my own domain name ‘abufofanah.com’ to it. So if I type ‘abufofanah.com’, it will say:

    moapdotcom.wordpress.com is no longer available.
    The authors have deleted this site.

    2. Now that I’m creating my ‘wordpress.org’ account. I used my own domain name ‘abufofanah.com’. But everytime I type it in, it still directs me to:

    moapdotcom.wordpress.com is no longer available.
    The authors have deleted this site.

    Can anyone help me delete my old domain name ‘abufofanah.com’ from wordpress.com website, so I can use it for my wordpress.org website.

    You deleted http://moapdotcom.wordpress.com and although http://abufofanah.com has been registered, it is not using WordPress.com nameservers.

    I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. Note there is a backlog so you will have to wait patiently for Staff help.

    No I do not know how long it will take. This thread has been tagged for Staff as stated above. Staff work through all forum threads tagged for their attention and through all email support tickets in chronological order based on datestamps and timestamps – first posted first served, as would be expected.

    How long it takes to clear the threads and support tickets depends on how many Happiness Engineers are working on them at any given point in time. It also depends on how complex the issues in each thread and ticket are are.

    Please don’t bump your thread here again by posting into it because it’s not in your best interest to post to it after it has been tagged for Staff help. Please do not keep creating duplicate threads. Doing wither of those or emailing Staff simply moves the timestamps forward and it takes longer to get a response.
