    Hello @charlotteseymour92,
Please read the description of your theme page:
    https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/dyad-2/

It has a step-by-step guide to enable the moving header images(Featured Content Slider).

    Hope this helps :)

Hi, thank you for posting that link. As I’m pretty new to this – does this mean if I have a static home page this feature isn’t available?

As it says in the theme description page:

If the site is using a Static Front Page, the theme will display that page’s Featured Image in the header area. If one is not assigned, the theme will fall back to the Featured Content slider. If no posts have the Featured Content tag, the Custom Header Image will be displayed on the Front Page instead.

So yes, the slider will work on the static page only if there’s no feature image assigned to that page.

To get the featured image slider, you have to first tags your posts with the featured tag.

    So do this:
    1. Go to your Blog Posts page: https://wordpress.com/posts/
    2. From the list of post click Edit on the posts that you want to feature on the slider.
    3. On the sidebar of the post editor screen, you will find an tab name Categories & Tags. Click on that.
    4. And then, add the featured tag in the Tags fields.
    5. Click Update to publish the changes.

Once that is done, follow these steps: (To add posts to the featured slider)
    1. Open your site customizer by clicking here: https://wordpress.com/customize/
    2. Click on the Featured Content > tab.
    3. On the Tag name field type featured.
    4. Click Save & Publish.

Finally, follow these steps: (To display the slider on the static front page)
    1. Open your site customizer by clicking here: https://wordpress.com/customize/ (Skip this step if it is already opened)
    2. Click on the Static Front Page > tab.
    3. From the Front page displays option select A static page.
    4. From the Front page dropdown menu select the page you want to set as your static front page.
    5. From the Posts page dropdown menu select the blog page.
    6. Click Save & Publish.

Let us know if it helps 🙂
