Moving hosting, creating new website

    Hello

    Newbie here. Im updating a customers website using a theme through wordpress but their current website is hosted on a private server. Should I move the existing site to new hosting then work on the new site or just create the new site on the new server then redirect? I believe the domian is registered with a different company to the hosting.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi There,
    Here is some information that can help: “You can use a domain that you already own, such as example.com, with your site here at WordPress.com. Your old .wordpress.com address will still work, but we’ll automatically redirect traffic from your old address to your new one. That way, you won’t lose any readers after mapping your domain name.”
