    Hi there!

Just to clarify, are you looking to move your site to WordPress.com? Also, is your current site running on WordPress? I see that you mentioned ‘independent site’ but do you know what software was used to build the site?

If you’d like to move your site to our platform — WordPress.com — we have a great guide here that you can follow: https://wordpress.com/support/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/ – This guide is applicable if your site is already running the self-hosted version of WordPress — also known as WordPress.org.

You can check out other ways to import a site to WordPress.com here: https://wordpress.com/support/import/

You can use a domain that’s registered at GoDaddy in two different ways.

First, you’ll need to upgrade your site to a paid plan. You can do that here: https://wordpress.com/plans

Then, do one of the following to use your domain from GoDaddy with your WordPress.com site:

    1. Domain connection. This keeps your domain registered with GoDaddy and points it to WordPress.com.
    2. Domain transfer. This transfers your domain to WordPress.com from GoDaddy.

If you’d like to know more about the differences between the two above, please check this page: https://wordpress.com/support/domain-connection-vs-domain-transfer/

Let us know if you have more questions and we’ll be happy to assist further.

    Regards
