Moving hosting to GoDaddy – Support page is outdated
-
We’re trying to move to a self hosted blog setup on GoDaddy.
I have moved many sites in the past, but never a wordpress.com blog to GoDaddy specifically.
I expected to do the following: Add the domain to GoDaddy account, install WordPress on it, update the nameservers on wordpress.com, wait for it to propogate, carry on like normal.
Unfortunately this only results in displaying a parked domain page.
The support pages say to use the WordPress name servers, but to edit the A record to an IP address. But wordpress.com does not allow us to edit or replace the existing A record.
The support page also gives instructions for how GoDaddy hosting used to look, it has not been updated to reflect what to do in cpanel.
So, what do I need to do on WordPress.com to get this working? Updating to the correct name servers (which we did, and have since reverted since the site was down for too long) should have been enough but for some reason it is different here.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
