moving hosts to bluehost export problem

    I am trying to move emilyrobbb.wordpress.com to just emilyrobbb.com. I have already purchased the domain on bluehost and can not for whatever reaosn figure out how to upload my current posts/comments/files/etc. to this new domain. I have tried exporting and it repeatedly tells me there is an error in the file. I cannot figure out how to remedy this and would appreciate any help!

    Hi there,

    Are you trying to import via Tools ->Import in the WP-Admin dashboard on the Bluehost site? Are you trying to upload the .zip file you got from us, or are you trying to upload the .xml files you get when you extract the .zip folder? You need to do the latter.

    Aside from that there’s not much we can do from this end. We don’t have access to your site’s dashboard or the importer on your Bluehost site, so there’s no way for us to check an error log to see what’s going on. For more help with that site you’ll need to contact either Bluehost support, or the self-hosted WordPress forums:
