Why not place the code for both icons in a text widget and display them side by side it it? http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/

You need to use a text widget instead and add the following code for your two icons and their links. Image widgets will always line up in a vertical row in the sidebar just like all other widgets.

After looking at that and seeing there was an issue, I’ve made some styling changes. Add the following instead.
<div style="text-align:center;"><a href="http://www.facebook.com/insightstrategiesinc?ref=hl"><img style="margin-right:5px;" width="50" height="50" src="http://kimberlyepowers.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/14527-facebook-logo.jpg?w=50&h=50"></a> <a href="http://pinterest.com/kimberlyepowers/insights/"><img style="margin-left:5px;" width="50" height="50" src="http://kimberlyepowers.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/pinterest.jpg?w=50&h=50"></a></div> -
