moving items from page to page

  hi there
  i’m new to blogging and i wondered if there is a way i can move posts from my “home” page to another page?
  i know i can copy and paste but then i’d lose the date on them
  is there a way i can simply transfer them?

  You can change your actual home page to a static page if you like.

  Dashboard–> left column–> Settings–>
  “front page” click “static post”
  then chose which page you want for your home page.

  This will give a different home page, while having your posts on a different tab.

  (if for some reason the theme doesn’t let this happen, switch back to
  “front page displays:” “posts”)

  go the bit i want everyone to look at, at the front and the bit that i want hidden (for now) harder to find
