Moving Menus Extremely Tedious & Slow
-
My WP site contains nearly 500 published pages (and continually growing) which are displayed in Menu trees. The new Menu editor is exceedingly tedious and slow when attempting to insert new Pages on my site into specific Menu trees. The Menu editor apparently cannot read the Parent page information from the Page editor so each new Menu insertion takes forever to locate into its proper tree. Is there any shortcut/workaround to avoid this time consuming shortcoming of the Menu editor?

Hi again @nobodyimportant1, I can understand how a 500+ item menu would indeed be very tedious, especially for your readers on mobile.
Have you considered creating a site index for that feature instead, and then focusing on just a parent topics in the menus? Here’s how to set up a site index:

Oh, also, if you’re making a site index with a hierarchy of pages instead, it seems we have a Page List block that would work well:

This looks interesting but I’m not sure what the end product looks like or where it appears (i.e. how it is accessed by readers). Is there a visual tutorial with images (stills or vids) displaying what this feature produces and how readers use it?

How it looks will likely depend on your site and its page hierarchy. I’d recommend just creating a page here:
https://wordpress.com/pageThen add the block. You’ll see a preview of how it looks. It’s pretty simple, but it’s a site index and will work well as that, especially for mobile users.
If you want to publish it, great; you can do that and add it to the menu. It’ll automatically be updated for you as you add more pages.
If you don’t like the look of that and would rather, for example, just show a list of child pages on each parent page, or sibling pages on each child page, you could experiment with short codes:
https://wordpress.com/support/list-pages-shortcode/That could end up looking something like we have, where there’s a list of links to various video tutorials:
https://wordpress.com/support/videos/I do want to say in either case, the results can be cached briefly. So if you added a new page and checked immediately, it might not show up yet, but it would appear soon.
