Moving my current domain to WordPress
-
Hi,
We are thinking about moving our website to WordPress, but before we do it, I actually have a few questions to ask.
1. If we decide to move our domain, will the current content, settings and design of our website remain the same? It’s built on WordPress integrated with OptimizePress
2. We would like to move our .com domain to WordPress completely, so we don’t have to pay our current provider anymore – is it possible?
3. Does WordPress have servers located in Europe?
4. In the business plan do we get a dedicated support or do we have to get on the chat or post on the forum? Thanks!

Hi there,
1. If we decide to move our domain, will the current content, settings and design of our website remain the same? It’s built on WordPress integrated with OptimizePress
Your content can be transferred to us exactly as it is using a standard WordPress export file.
But your settings and design cannot. To use the same theme you’re currently using you’ll need to upgrade to our Business Plan to install it. The same applies for any plugins you’d like to use. But those will need to be uploaded and configured again on the WordPress.com site, and cannot simply be moved from your existing site.
2. We would like to move our .com domain to WordPress completely, so we don’t have to pay our current provider anymore – is it possible?
As long as your domain has a domain extension we support and it is eligible for transfer, you can transfer it to us, yes.

3. Does WordPress have servers located in Europe?
We have data centers located across the world, but there’s no guarantee that your data will only be stored on servers located in the EU. Please see our privacy policy for more information in that regard:
4. In the business plan do we get a dedicated support or do we have to get on the chat or post on the forum?
The Business Plan includes 24/7 live chat and priority email support. If by “dedicated support” you mean do you have a specific support technician assigned to your site, account, then the answer is no. You can find information on our different support options here:

Hi Kokkieh,
Thanks for answering my questions!
I have one more. After moving our domain to WordPress I am wondering if there is a chance to integrate/connect the webform WP provides to AWeber?
By that I mean that we would like to design a nice webform in WordPress (if it’s even possible) and then connect it to AWeber in a way, that when somebody fills that form out, they are immediately added to the subscribers list that we keep on AWeber.
I know it is possible to create such from on AWeber and then copy the HTML code, but that’s not what we want to do.
I hope it makes sense!

Hi –
I’m not familiar with Aweber, but it looks like you’re referring to this plugin?
If so, you’ll need our business plan in order to use plugins with WordPress.com. Those details are here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/business-plan/
Since the plugin is available in the WordPress codex it should work fine with WordPress.com business plan.
Write back if you have any other questions.
