Moving my site

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi. I am moving my site to a new host and want to redirect the urls from the current site to the new one. Most of the URLs do not have the same slug anymore, ie I do not have example.wordpress.com/pagename that goes to example.com/pagename it is more like moving example.worpdress.com/pagename to example.com/differentname. I have a list of all the old pages and the new urls. Is there a way to set those up?

    Hi Todd,

There are a number of plugins available that can manage redirections for you.

Take a look at Redirection, you can find out more by visiting https://wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/ for information on how to add your old pages and the new urls with this plugin.

There is a step by step guide that you might find useful in your case.
Give it a read at the link down below:

Thanks for the link! However I am using a free version of WordPress and can’t install plugins. I’ve added all the old posts into the new staging environment and just need a way to redirect the old urls to the new pages.
