Moving my website and domain from GoDaddy to WordPress
-
I currently have my website and domain at GoDaddy and my company’s emails at G Suite (Google). I want to move the website to WordPress.com. I was going to move the domain to Google Domains but was told it would cause our email to be down for 5-7 days or more. I thought it would be much faster to move the domain registration. How long would it take to move the domain from GoDaddy to WordPress? Would my company’s emails be down for more than a day? If I leave my domain at GoDaddy to avoid this problem, can I still move my website to WordPress.com for designing and hosting my website?

Hi there!
It is true that domain transfers can take around 5 days so, in order to keep your email and domain working during that time, I would recommend mapping it first.
https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/
Once you’ve mapped the domain, you’ll want to connect your email as explained here:
https://wordpress.com/support/add-email/add-email-through-g-suite/
Once that is done and everything is working, you can transfer your domain :)
Let me know if you have any more questions regarding that.
