moving my wordpress followers to another blog
-
I used to have a self-hosted blog. the hosting was too expensive for me, so I renamed my old .com site (that I had before self-hosting) and exported all the content from the self-hosted site onto that old .com site.
I had over 1100 followers on my self-hosted site and even though I made a dedicated post asking people to follow my ‘new’ blog (technically my old one), only 4 people did. Is there a way to transfer the followers? The blog content is the exact same as it has been exported, the only change is the URL!

Hi there,
If the old site connected to your WordPress.com account via Jetpack, and are these followers subscribed via that plugin? If so, we can migrate them over to the WordPress.com site for you. We’ll just need to know the URL of the Jetpack-connected site, and the WordPress.com site.

Thanks. I’ve started the process to migrate your subscribers. It should complete within an hour or two.
Do you want us to migrate your stats over to the WordPress.com site as well?

Done.
It looks like the follower migration has also completed, so you should be all set.
If you want to disconnect the Jetpack site, you should be able to do that from My Site ->Manage ->Settings, or from within the Jetpack section of the WP-Admin dashboard of the site itself if you still have access to it.
