Moving my WP.com site to self-hosted – HELP!
-
I’m a little confused about how to proceed. On the dashboard of my blog, it indicates I can register the domain name for $18. If I go this route, is Word Press.org my host?
If I go with someone like Dreamhost or Bluehost, will I be able to transfer my .com site without any issues?
I’m, obviously, a WP newbie and I don’t want to make a rookie mistake.

No. WordPress.com will still be hosting your blog. However, if you’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com and want it to point to a blog or website hosted elsewhere then you can do this by updating the nameservers.
