Moving pages so that they’re under the header in Journalist theme

    Hi,

Complete CSS novice here and I’m having teething problems. Also, apologies if this has been asked before, but I’ve searched through the forum and online and haven’t found come up with anything that helps.

I bought the CSS upgrade for my blog (which uses the journalist theme) as there was a few things I wanted to tidy up with the site. Ohe of the main thing I wanted to do was add a custom header and then underneath the header have links to my pages (currently I only have an ‘about’ page, but I intend to add further). Managed to add the header, but at a losss how to move the pages so that they’re under it. Jourmalist only allows pages to be placed on the right-hand side of the theme How do I go about changing it?

    Many thanks in advance

Since the journalist does not support custom menus, about all I can suggest is to use a custom menu widget and then position it between the content and the header. I took a look at this and I can get it over there, but can’t get it to display horizontally. It wants to stay vertical. I’m really tired at the moment and need to go to bed, but hopefully hallluke will drop around and have the solution. He is the one with the most CSS experience around here.

You are probably not going to be able to have dropdowns.

I would actually suggest looking at some of the all white themes that do support a top navigation menu and then work it over to look more like the journalist. On the appearance > themes page, just use the feature filter and filter for custom menu.

    Thanks for that, thesacredpath.

Will have a look at some white themes over the weekend and see how i go about altering them so that they look like journalist.
