Moving photographs around a page

I have recently set up a domain with a page that l want to use as a home page. How do l move photographs around the page. I added a news item at the bottom and wanted to put a photograph with it but the visual went straight to the top of the page. Thanks. PS I am using the Skylark theme.

Generally all you need to do is to type your text then put the cursor where you want the image, go to the image editor and it should appear where you want.
