Moving posts from my own server to WordPress.com

  I have been blogging with WordPress for 4 years now, so my database is quite big. My XML file is 24 M (way above the max. 3 Meg for importing in WP). Is there any way around this?

  You would need to split the import file into at least 8 files. This ist quite tricky, I think. I can’t really give you instructions on what to do.

  I can help. Zip / rar the file (essential) and send it to Support. I’ll split it all up and import it into the blog you need it in so do tell me that bit :)

  (For the curious I open the file in text editor then do a lot of copy/paste)
